About Us
Overview
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (T.W.G.Hs.) is the largest charitable organization with the longest history in Hong Kong. Since 1870, TWGHs have developed medical, education and community services to have over 300 service centres all over Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories.
Tung Wah have developed day nursery services since 1968, there are 15 nursery schools which are registered as Non-Profit-Making Kindergarten-cum-Child care centres to provide long whole-day care and education services for children aged 2 - 6 with integrated programme and curriculum is designed to cater for children's needs according to developmental ages and learning diversity. All nursery schools in order that children can build-up physical and psychological health, strong learning foundation, positive learning attitudes and life habits through happy environment.
Aims
- To enable children grow up sprightly and healthily in loving environment under the care and guidance of professionally trained teachers.
- To nurture children's good living habits, learning interests, and self-care abilities.
- To foster children's holistic development in the domains of social interaction, cognition, physical health, emotions, aesthetics, and creativity.
- To support families in solving education and child care problems so that parents can be relieved to go to work, and be engaged to pursue betterment in child care.

To convey caring culture and positive messages to families and the community, to create safe and appropriate environment for children's growth and to nurture children's initiative and independence in learning through a variety, balanced and enlightening play activities.

The nursery school has floor area of 625 sq.m., which includes activities rooms, indoor playground, music room, kitchen, kid's lavatory, principal room, staff room, laundry and store room, etc.
Each activity room provides diverse age-appropriate learning corners, such as dramatic play, reading and writing, art and crafts, construction play, practical life, nature and science, etc.
History
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Zonta Club of Kowloon Nursery School commenced operation in 2001 was formerly a nursery school in Wanchai opened since 1977 to provide child care and educational services for children aged 2 to 6 and has been moved in response to town planning and service need, to 1/F, Ancillary Facilities Block, Tin Yuet Estate in Tin Shui Wai to commerce.
2001
The opening ceremony was officiated by Mrs. Carrie Lam, J.P., Director of Social Welfare on 9th March 2002.
2002
The school started provision of stationing school social work services to collaborate with teachers to provide support and guidance to children and parents in need. Also, regular parents talks, workshops and parenting groups were held to help parents understand children's growing needs and build up good parent-child relationship.
2006
The school with, Lions Club of South Kowloon Nursery School, Ng Sheung Lan Memorial Nursery School, Fong Shiu Yee Nursery School, and Hung Wong Kar Gee Nursery School participated in the 2-year "Assessment as Basis for enhancing children's development and learning programme" as funded by Quality Education Fund (QEF). Through this programme, nursery schools developed culture and mechanism for self-evaluation and self-improvement with emphasis on 'early mathematics' in which our teachers master child assessments and strategies to promote curriculum development and adjust teaching plans to cater for children's learning differences.
2006
The School become campus partner of the 'Leap!' the body education programme organized by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation with Cloud Gate Dance School from Taiwan as the consultant, 'Leap!' offers children chances to relish the fun of learning and to experience their own body movements and improvements through various activities.
2009
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals started officially to operate 'Leap!' the body education programme. The school continue to participate in "Leap!".
2014
The School joined the Social Welfare Department's On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services Pilot Scheme and collaborated with TWGHs' 'Pre-school rehabilitation services – Sunshine Kids' project to provide early interventions for children with special learning needs.
2015
The School joined the 'WISE project' that led by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and funded by the Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation. Under the collaboration of senior teachers, educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and registered social workers, a multi-disciplinary support model with school-based features was implemented to meet to the diverse of children, to timely identify and understand children with special learning or developmental needs, to provide assessments and individual interventions to children, and to offer trainings and supports to parents.
2016
To support children with signs of special needs, the school joined the Social Welfare Department, with funding support from the Lotteries Fund, launched a 20-month project namely “the Pilot Project on Tier 1 Support Services in Kindergartens/ Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centres”(the Pilot Project) in 2020/21 School Year, to provide early intervention services for children awaiting assessment by Child Assessment Centres(CACs), or assessed by CACs to have borderline developmental problems, etc.
2020
The school joined “Jockey Club Inclusive Quality Preschool Project” (IQ project) that led by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Through this project to establish a best practice model of the “IQ Preschool”, which integrates OPRS and tier 1 service, with Preschool Learning Support professional team’s (OT, PT, ST, SCCW, social worker, EP) worked in close collaboration to cater for learner’s diversity.
2021
